# Monthly Search Console reports for freelance SEOs

Monthly Search Console reports for freelance SEOs is a SaaS idea for freelance SEOs and small agencies with 5 to 40 clients, priced to test at $29 a month for up to 10 clients, then $2 per client. Building reports by hand takes a day every month, and clients don’t read dense dashboards. With it, freelancers connect each client’s Search Console once and send a clear monthly report with their own notes.

## What problem does it solve?

Building reports by hand takes a day every month, and clients don’t read dense dashboards. Freelancers want a short, branded report that shows progress in plain words.

**Why now:** AI answers now appear above many search results, so clients want regular, plain explanations of what is happening to their traffic.

## What do they use today?

Most freelancers pull figures from the search tools by hand, paste them into a slide deck or document, and add a few lines of comment. Some send a raw dashboard link instead, which many clients never open.

## How does it work?

When a freelancer takes on a client, they connect that client’s search performance data once. At month end the report shows clicks, impressions, top pages and top searches, with room for the freelancer to add notes and next steps. It goes to the client by scheduled email with a link, under the freelancer’s own logo and colours.

## What goes in the first version?

- Connect Google Search Console per client
- A monthly report: clicks, impressions, top pages and searches
- Room for the freelancer’s notes and next steps
- Scheduled email to the client with a link
- The freelancer’s logo and colours

## Who pays, and how much?

- **Who pays:** Freelance SEOs and small agencies with 5 to 40 clients
- **Price to test:** $29 a month for up to 10 clients, then $2 per client

A base price covers a first batch of clients, and each extra client adds a small charge, so the bill follows the size of the client list. It stands in for the hand-built report each month.

## How to test it in 7 days

1. Ask in r/SEO how freelancers build monthly reports and how long it takes.
2. Make one report by hand for two freelancers’ clients and ask if they would pay for it.
3. Offer a founding discount to the first ten who pre-order.

## Where to find the first customers

- r/SEO and r/bigseo
- SEO communities on Slack and Discord
- Freelancer groups on LinkedIn

## What are the risks?

- Reporting tools are crowded, so stay with Search Console and simplicity.
- Changes to Google’s API can break the data pull.

## How to build it on shipanysaas

4 of the parts it needs are already in the kit. Get the kit, open it in Claude Code, Codex or Cursor, and paste the starting prompt.

**Already in the kit:** Teams and roles, Billing, Emails, Blog and docs

**You build:**

- Search Console connection per client
- Report builder and scheduled sending
- Branding per freelancer

[Get the kit](https://www.shipanysaas.com/pricing)

### The starting prompt

```text
You are in a fresh copy of the shipanysaas starter kit, a pnpm and Turborepo monorepo: the Next.js web app is in apps/web and the Supabase database, with its migrations, in apps/web/supabase. Help me build the first version of Monthly Search Console reports for freelance SEOs.
Read AGENTS.md first, then the AGENTS.md in every folder you work in: the kit's rules there win over your defaults. When a skill in .agents/skills (also in .claude/skills and .cursor/skills) matches a task, use it.
## The product
- What it does: Freelancers connect each client’s Search Console once and send a clear monthly report with their own notes.
- Who pays: Freelance SEOs and small agencies with 5 to 40 clients
- Their problem: Building reports by hand takes a day every month, and clients don’t read dense dashboards. Freelancers want a short, branded report that shows progress in plain words.
- Price to test: $29 a month for up to 10 clients, then $2 per client (a plan in apps/web/config/billing.config.ts)
## Build only this first version
1. Connect Google Search Console per client
2. A monthly report: clicks, impressions, top pages and searches
3. Room for the freelancer’s notes and next steps
4. Scheduled email to the client with a link
5. The freelancer’s logo and colours
## Already in the kit: reuse it, never rebuild it
- Teams and roles: team accounts with members, roles and invitations
- Billing: Stripe or Lemon Squeezy subscriptions, per seat or usage-based, and one-off payments
- Emails: transactional email through Resend or Nodemailer
- Blog and docs: blog, changelog and docs pages with SEO set up
## New code it needs
- Search Console connection per client
- Report builder and scheduled sending
- Branding per freelancer
## How to work
1. Plan first: list the database tables (with row-level security, so each team only sees its own rows), the pages and the server actions for the first feature. Then stop and wait for my OK.
2. Build one feature at a time with the kit's own UI and form components, with a migration for every schema change and user-facing text in the translation files.
3. After each feature, run the verification steps in AGENTS.md, fix what they find, and tell me what you built and what comes next.
## Rules
- Ask me before you add a dependency, delete a file, or change sign-in, billing or the admin panel.
- Leave the parts of the kit this product doesn't use as they are.
Done when every first-version feature works for a signed-in team and the AGENTS.md checks pass.
